Last night I performed at one of my town’s open mic venues, and I had a terrific time. I read a chapter from The Curse of the Neverland—it would have only been better if you had been there!
If you live near Sequim, I encourage you to come next month—it’s the second Monday of every month at OTA (Olympic Theater Arts), from 6—9pm. Admission is free, there is a concession stand with snacks and beverages (including wine and beer), it’s well organized, there’s a great sound system, and the performances are excellent.
There were 20 people performing last night: both musical and non-musical acts (including other writers sharing their work). I laughed, shed a tear, admired the seasoned performers and cheered on the newcomers. It was fun to be around a bunch of other folks like myself, with a yen to share their creativity.
If I’m lucky, I might have tickled the interest of a new reader or two.
I’ll remind you next month, but plan ahead now if you are close by—put it on your calendar and come enjoy the local talent!
If you don’t live nearby, be sure you are finding an audience for your own creativity!
Here are two photos, just for fun…
