Three heads are better than one! I met with Celeste and Pam at Hart’s Fine Books in Sequim yesterday, and we cooked up some super-fun plans for The Curse of the Neverland. They’ve even made a page for my book on their site, so you can buy local through on-line convenience. (See the red “Buy Local” button on the right side of my website.)
Dates to mark on your calendar for super-fun plans:
Friday, May 1st is “First Friday Art Walk” here in Sequim. Local businesses, galleries, museums, library, etc. participate in exhibiting the work of local artists. The art walk provides the perfect time for the entertainment and socializing that accompany viewing art so well.
Hart’s Fine Books has a local high school musical talent, Trent LaCour, who plays their grand piano onsite. Trent is who Captain Li’l Jack wanted to grow up to be! I will be there for an author meet-and-greet from 5 to 8pm. I’ve been interviewed for the Senior Center newsletter, and I’ve another coming up for the Gazette—we’re encouraging hip grandparents, cool aunts, and awesome moms and dads to use this opportunity to buy my book for the age 8 and up Neverland fans in their lives. Come as a fairy or a pirate for 20% off!
Saturday, May 9th is a very busy day in Sequim: it’s the day of the Irrigation Festival Parade! We skipped over the idea of creating a “Piper Pan and Her Merry Band” float because we don’t have enough time. (Wouldn’t that be fun!) Maybe next year.
Instead, we’ll hold an event at the book store following the parade from approximately 1pm to 3pm that will include a fairy treasure hunt among participating businesses with book marks and stickers for those completing the hunt plus entry into a drawing for a free book. We’ll also have a take-home coloring contest, with a set of Character Cards going to the winners.
Short author readings will happen at 1:30 and 2:30pm. Oh. Showing up as a fairy or a pirate on May 9th also gets you 20% off the book, thanks to the generosity of Hart’s Fine Books!
Most of you receiving this note already own a copy of my book. Please come by and see me anyway—I’d love your support. Bring a friend if you like, but come by all means. You can tell others there that you enjoyed it. As a member of Piper’s Merry Band (and mine!) your presence means the world to me.

This week’s audio excerpt is Chapter 16, “Gone,” in which the Lifers discover Piper’s absence and make plans to find her. Click here to download and listen at your leisure — it’s 16 minutes long.
