Welcome…
to all of you who took the time to stop by my table Saturday at the Gardiner Holiday Fair! Glad to have you here in Piper’s Merry Band!
I enjoyed meeting folks and sharing the premise of The Curse of the Neverland. Your enthusiasm was wonderful feedback—I hope you get to embark on Piper’s journey soon if you haven’t already, and that you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
If you live close enough to come hear me speak at the Sequim Branch Library this Friday, November 20th at 6pm, I’d love to have you! The event is free—it tops off the library’s NaNoWriMo series. (November is National Novel Writing Month.) I’ve titled it “Tips, Tricks and Traps of a Creative Writer’s Life,” knowing that will give me leeway to talk about my own writing journey as well as address questions you bring to the table. I’ll also be reading from my book—with my theater background, the chance to perform a reading is not something I can pass up.
Again, for those of you who are receiving this newsletter for the first time, it comes every Tuesday. Sometimes I get to share new illustrations (I’m currently working with my illustrator on book 2), sometimes I have news about an appearance like the one coming up this Friday, and very often, I am sharing book recommendations for your reading pleasure.
I’m a real believer in the power of books to move and shape our lives. I trust this enthusiasm is one we share! Let’s face it—if it weren’t for readers like you, writers like me would become an unsung song. Thank you for your support and for believing in Piper Pan and Her Merry Band!
