Piper Pan in the News

Coming event:  May 1st Sequim First Friday Art Walk at Hart’s Fine Books in Sequim, 5-8pm  author meet-and-greet! (That’s me!) Come as a fairy or a pirate for 20% off the book.

Announcing Piper Pan in the news! This week’s Sequim Gazette featured a very nice article about The Curse of the Neverland written by reporter Matthew Nash. Click here to read it if you haven’t had a chance!

I also received another lovely review written by someone who not only prizes children’s books and children’s librarians, but spent her career teaching librarians!

“For young readers wanting to extend their time in Neverland, Peter Pan’s granddaughter, Piper Pan, is ready to lead them forward. This new series builds on Barrie’s Peter Pan adding contemporary themes while providing continuing opportunities for the adventures only possible in the Neverland.  Belle, formerly Tinker Bell, sometimes helpful and other times disingenuous, helps Piper return to the Neverland and take up a mission of finding her parents and bringing the magical island back from ecological disaster.

Young readers are familiar with the Peter Pan story and this book is for those who secretly see themselves having a part in the story of Neverland.  A good read for young readers looking for a series that offers a mix of fantasy and realism.”

If you haven’t asked all your friends in far places to request the book at their local library yet, please forward this e-mail with a note asking them to help make the book available to their community!

Here’s a link back to the blog that talked about how that is easily done.

Hope to see some of you this Friday evening at Hart’s Fine Books!

This week’s audio is Chapter 18, “Uninvited Guests” in which the girls’ attempt t0 rescue Piper meets with unexpected complications. Allow 12 minutes listening time. Click here for access to the download.
