You know my book The Curse of the Neverland champions smart and gutsy girls in a fantasy adventure quest involving pirates, fairies, and a dragon. It’s a great book for kids age 8-14 (boys like it, too!). It’s also a terrific cross-generational book, happily shared between hip grandmothers and their grandchildren, cool aunts and their nieces and nephews.
Now I need you to champion Piper Pan and Her Merry Band. You can help Piper Pan go viral. I’m an underdog in the publishing world, and your help is invaluable to me. Here’s a way you can help me in 15 minutes or less, for FREE!
My book is set up so libraries can buy it easily. You have a library card for your local public library, right? Help me help the libraries reach readers!
Please request that your library acquire The Curse of the Neverland. Many libraries have a way for you to place requests through their websites for items not in their catalogs. You can also request it over the phone or in person. You will need:
- Your library card number and your name
- Book Title: The Curse of the Neverland
- Author: Lindy MacLaine
- Publication Date: March 12, 2015
- ISBN#: 978-0989869270
Your library will order it and place it on hold for you when it comes in.
Print this page so you can do this SOON. Now, forward this note to 5 (or more) of your friends who live in other places and ask them to do the same. Ask them to join you in championing Piper Pan and Her Merry Band. When each of you asks 5 who ask 5 more, who ask 5 more… My book will have a chance at reaching readers who will love the adventure as much as this reviewer:
“The Curse of the Neverland is a great read aloud for children or an independent read for upper elementary and middle school students. I cheered for Piper as she bravely rescued the ‘Lifers’ from Fitch’s miserable excuse for a foster home. This is a great story of the resiliency of youth and the strength that is found in shared experiences….good and bad. Although there are dark, heart wrenching moments in this story, the strength and determination of the girls is inspiring. I hope Ms. MacLaine is hard at work on the next installment in this series. I can’t wait to read what Piper and her Merry Band have in store for Captain Li’l Jack next.” —Pam Scholz, Elementary School Librarian, Stafford, VA
This week’s audio is Chapter 14, “Betrayed,” in which Piper is turned over to pirate Captain Li’l Jack. Click here to download: allow 15 minutes of listening time.
