I have author appearance news to share! I get to be part an author panel in my county library system summer reading program with authors Lish McBride and Lisa Mantchev! (North Olympic Library System, in Port Angeles, Washington). Jennifer Knight, head children’s librarian, just sent me the program blurb:
Friday July 24
3:00-4:00pm Werewolves, Fairies and Steam Punk: Writing the World of Imaginary Creatures
All Ages
Authors Lish McBride (Hold Me Closer Necromancer), Lindy MacLaine (The Curse of the Neverland), and Lisa Mantchev (Eyes Like Stars, Tinker) will talk about how they navigate the world of imaginary creatures in their writing and the different ways they have published their work. Books will be available for purchase through Odyssey Bookshop. Win a copy of one of each of the author’s books by attending and entering for a door prize!
I’m thrilled to be in such wonderful creative company!
Now, don’t forget my book launch party is this Saturday, March 21, 4-6pm in the room above Nourish Restaurant. Live music by Kate and Ethan Powers, face painting by Marjorie Newberg, gluten-free refreshments for sale by Nourish including: pirate punch, popcorn, grog, hardtack, fairy cakes and ambrosia (decaf). Suggested donation at the door $1 adults, $0.50 children, goes to Soroptomist International of Sequim for their work empowering girls. Door prizes given away every 30 minutes including a $30 gift certificate to Nourish Restaurant. Come in costume for extra chances to win!
Piper Pan will be there (aka Alexi Rampp Taft), and my friends have commited to coming in costume, so you won’t be the only one! I’ll look for you there!
Today’s audio is Chapter 12: Pan and Belle at Loggerheads, in which their different goals take them in separate directions, putting everyone at risk. Allow 30 minutes for listening.
