If you are in Sequim or the Seattle area, I’d like to invite you to come this Sunday, December 14th, to the space above Nourish Restaurant in Sequim between 11am and 3pm, for my second author appearance. (Nourish is a fabulous farm-to-table restaurant featuring local organic foods. They are 100% gluten-free – a dream come true for me. Brunch is served 10am-2pm on Sundays, an experience to be relished. Call for reservations: 360-797-1480, visit their website here.)
At our gathering upstairs, shop for gorgeous artisan gifts: fine art images: Kay Kepley of ResonanceCards.com, one-of-a-kind jewelry: Paulette Hill of PaulettesByDesign.com, handcrafted shawls by Nancy Morris, hand-carved flutes by Dave Toman, gluten-free baked goods by Dave and Tanya Rose. I have a limited number of pre-published copies of my book I will be selling as well.
There will be entertainment! I will be reading from my book every hour, and Kate Lily, local songstress, will play and sing for us periodically as well.
It promises to be one of the most delightful shopping experiences you’ve had – community, treats, and entertainment all rolled up together. It’s the perfect holiday outing. Please stop by, I’ll be tickled pink to see you!
I’m happy to report my first appearance last Saturday at the Sequim Soroptomist Gift Gala was a success! My news release appeared in local papers—people came already knowing a little about me and my book—that helped break the ice. What I tell my coaching clients about doing something new turned out to be true—it’s scariest before it begins. Once it’s begun, it’s moment to moment, dealing with what’s right there. Manageable, and even fun. My publisher Kelly Lenihan shared a table with me, making things run smoothly for us both. (See the picture below)
I met fellow writer Gene Bradbury, whoi I’d like to introduce to you. He writes poetry for adults and picture books—he has one middle-grade book. He was nice enough to refer a customer over to me when his material didn’t match what was sought. Check him out here. He self-publishes through Create Space, so talking shop with him was illuminating. So much to learn in the world!
Hope your holiday season is unfolding with pockets of unexpected fun!
