What a FABULOUS book launch party we had this past Saturday! I can only wish you ALL could have been there. Some of the highlights:
- Alexi Rampp Taft (Piper Pan cover model) was there with her whole family—(my friends all said “Isn’t she amazing!”)
- Readers who already own the book came to celebrate with me, including Rae Lynn, as the cutest pirate ever!
- Two of the girls in the AIM High, Reach for the Stars Book Club, currently reading the book at Greywolf Elementary School, came—such fun to meet them!
- Kate and Ethan Powers on fiddle and guitar made all our toes tap and our faces smile.
- My publisher Kelly Lenihan covered the sales table so I could “flit about.”
- The face painter, Marjorie Newberg, was FABULOUS. Check out the dragon on my face!
- My cover-photographer team, Jan and Kay Kepley worked tirelessly to capture the event in photos.
- My graphic design collaborator Marjorie Schoelles, author of Now I Wish Upon a Pearl came all the way from Florida to celebrate with me.
- Many dear friends took the time and care to come help me host the party, including the long-time Seattle girlfriends featured in the face painting “selfie.”
A big thank you to everyone who came to the book launch party, everyone who helped, and everyone who has contributed time, energy, love and support to bring Piper Pan and Her Merry Band into the world!
Today’s audio is Chapter 13: “Betrayed” in which things take a turn for the worse. Allow about 25 minutes for listening
It was a great party! I wish we could have stayed longer but we were busy.
I can not wait until book 2!
I loved that you came, Rae Lynn, with your mom and grandma, right? Seeing you guys in pirate costume was such fun! Did you have a chance to get your face painted?
